A blast from the past

Hey guys,

Here's an amusing email I received from a long time doer, an email with a historical perspective. Society and culture may change, but what women really respond to never does.

What if everything you ever thought you knew about dating and relationships was just plain wrong? Would you keep doing the same things and getting the same results? Or would you try something new and radically different? To stop dating, and start living, go to http://www.johnalanis.com/ultimate_system.htm and discover new, unusual attraction secrets

Hi John,

A while back I E'd you and Shelley about the insight Mark Twain had on romance novels when he wrote Tom Sawyer in 1876. There's a chapter where Tom and Huck want to be pirates. When Tom mentions killing the victims, Huck asks if they kill the women. Tom says, "Oh no, you don't kill they women...they're always real pretty and real scared. You keep them prisoner but you treat them real nice...you always bow and take your hat off. After a few weeks they stop being afraid. Then they fall in love with you and you can't make them leave. Even if you was to drive them off, they'd turn right around and come back... it's that way in every pirate and robber book I ever read."

Yup, ole Mark Twain knew where it was at in 1876.

JA: Thanks for the email, Cliff--good to hear from you. So, according to Mark Twain, women loved bad boys even back in 1876? What a shock! Just goes to show you, the more things change, the more they stay the same.
