The Dirt

Over the holidays I spent more time than usual reading. One of the books I finally got around to reading was "The Dirt," the story of Motley Crue. It's written by Neil Strauss, the guy who later went on to live and write "The Game," a very good book about the "seduction and pick up community."

"The Dirt," is a fantastic book, both from a general success point of view, and from the point of view of attracting women.

What if everything you ever thought you knew about dating and relationships was just plain wrong? Would you keep doing the same things and getting the same results? Or would you try something new and radically different? To stop dating, and start living, go to http://www.johnalanis.com/ultimate_system.htm before this site is removed.

You cannot get more dysfunctional than the four members of Motely Crue. Everything they did that could have derailed their success, they did. Copious quantities of drugs, alcohol, crazy women, car accidents, drunk driving, and anything else known to destroy success they did.

Yet, despite it all, they went on to succeed wildly, and despite their dysfunctions, and a burned out music scene, they're still around today, still relevant, if only marginally so.

What drove them to success? Exactly what Napoleon Hill describes in Think and Grow Rich--"a burning desire." Above all else these guys wanted to succeed, wanted to be the biggest, loudest rock band in the world, and for ten years they were--that's an eternity in the world of music. Their desire to succeed overcame their bad habits, the exact "failure habits" described by Hill in Think and Grow Rich.

Their desire to succeed, and complete belief in themselves also made them very attractive to women, mobbed by them in a way bands today can only imagine. They were brash, confident, cocky, in the moment, and absolutely believed they were the best things going- and women could not stay away, in spite of the bands obvious bad habits.

What's to learn from the "The Dirt?" Well, you should read it, and see for yourself, but I can tell you this: if you take on Motley Crue's good habits, and stay away from their bad habits, you will have a very, very successful life, keeping what you earned, both in money and in women.

It's a book about how to succeed, and a book about how to fail--and you should read it for both perspectives.
