Britney shaves her head-- and it's front page news!

A few days ago I went to the CNN website to see what kind of stupidity was happening in the world that day, and I was not disappointed. You see, Britney Spears had shaved her head, and obviously this was big, big news.

It was so big, that is had three mentions on the website. The first was the actual story, the second was a video about the story, and the third was an interview with Britney's hairdresser who advised her not to shave her head.

What if everything you ever thought you knew about dating and relationships was just plain wrong? Would you keep doing the same things and getting the same results? Or would you try something new and radically different? To stop dating, and start living, go to http://www.johnalanis.com/ultimate_system.htm before this site is removed.

But, wait there's more! Later in the day when I turned on the news channels, there was Britney, shaved head and all. Even better, the story was still running the next day, presumably because her hair had not yet grown back.

I have seen, and witnessed, a lot of stupid news in my life, but this takes the cake. The media is addicted to celebrities, lost in a world of haze and fantasy. If this was just the entertainment media, it wouldn't bother me--but this is mainstream media, media people, unfortunately pay attention to.

One of the big reasons why young guys are so confused about women is because they've grown up in this particular media environment. They see how men are portrayed in the media (as dopey, chubby, simpering, whiney babies), and think that's how they should act. Then they wonder why women aren't attracted to them.

Here's my advice: while I do think it is important to keep on eye on the media and popular culture so you can understand how others are influenced, I also think it is even more important to limit your exposure to it. What is reported as relevant and factual today is, in reality, unimportant and amazingly ignorant of reality.

If you want to attract women and succeed in life you must pay attention to only those people who consistently get the results they want. And I can assure you, people like that care not a whit about what Britney or any other 20 something girl does with her hair--they have important things on their minds... like creating a better life for themselves.

On with the fun...
